Since it’s famous as the “Mecca of unique fashion,” we arrived at Takeshita Street with high expectations, but…
“Wait… isn’t it a bit too crowded!?”
The street was so packed we barely had room to browse the shops. Plus, to my surprise, I couldn’t find as many “girly-style” boutiques as I had hoped. 🫠
Feeling like there wasn’t much left for us to see there, we decided to leave Takeshita Street behind earlier than planned.
It was so crowded that I was worried I wouldn’t make it to my cafe reservation on time.

Feeling a little exhausted from the crowds, we took a short walk over to the Omotesando area.
The atmosphere changed instantly—wide boulevards lined with stunning architecture.
I was particularly struck by the Dior building; its glass facade is a true work of art, shimmering elegantly in the light.

Pure Bliss: My Very First Afternoon Tea Experience
This was my first-ever Afternoon Tea. They were hosting a “Strawberry Fair” during our visit, and when the set was brought to our table, I couldn’t take my eyes off it.
It was absolutely stunning!
The dishes were so delicate that I almost felt guilty eating them.

My first trip to Harajuku and Omotesando was a day of surprises.
From the high-energy chaos of Takeshita Street to the breathtaking architecture of the Dior building, and finally, the serene elegance of HAUTE COUTURE CAFE.
It reminded me that Tokyo has so many different faces.
Sometimes, a little “luxury escape” is exactly what we need to refresh our hearts.
If you ever find yourself in Tokyo, I highly recommend stepping away from the crowds to treat yourself to a beautiful afternoon tea.
